Treat me well logo PINK 5Today, Mencap is holding an event at the Royal College of Nursing to mark the launch of their new healthcare campaign: Treat me well. This is a campaign to transform how the NHS treats people with a learning disability in hospital. We want every person with a learning disability to get the reasonable adjustments they need when they go into hospital, and we want all hospital staff to receive good quality learning disability training so they know how to make these adjustments.

We want to work with the NHS to make this change happen. At the launch event, we will hear from speakers from Mencap, the Royal College of Nursing, NHS England, NHS Improvement, Skills for Health, CQC, General Medical Council and Nursing & Midwifery Council. We will also have workshops delivered by people with a learning disability.

Our very own,Executive Director for Learning Services and Consultancy, Candace Miller, will be joining the panel to speak about the influence of the Learning Disabilities Core Skills Education and Training Framework.
