My Health Skills has only been open a week but has managed an average of 70 new members per working day. I am new to Social Media (or as I learned #SoMe on Twitter) and I was told the best way to learn is to 'sign up and lurk'. There is something a little worrying about being labelled as a lurker. I soon joined in though. The debates, sharing of learning and experiences and the openess is astonishing. I have done more reading on education, skills and development than I have done in years. Long ago - I'm talking green screen times - there was a phrase that the developers of the original patient administration systems (PAS) used and that was 'sand-pit'. This was an area of the system which had all the functionality of the system (which was not a lot at the time nor very fast) which contained dummy patient data so that when people did their training they did not have to worry if they made a mistake. It was safe to learn. This is what My Health Skills is about we want the social media savvy of our members to actively add things that are on their mind here so that the lurkers are compelled to join in.
My opinion or indeed your opinion is as valid as anyone else's.
